About

Simply put, Nocabulabet = Federal Hill.  Long before Italian restaurants and Showtime’s Brotherhood, Providence’s Federal Hill was, of course, just a hill.  Native Americans referred to that hill as “Nocabulabet.”  And it is on that hill that we play bocce every Wednesday.  And that’s what we’ve done in the spring and the fall since 2008.

Feel free to stop by, catch some games, share a cold beverage or two, and get a chance to meet members of the league.  Games begin at 6:45 p.m. at Nocabulabet Park at 69 Spruce Street, at the corner of Dean Street, one block north of Atwells Avenue on historic Federal Hill (of course)  in beautiful Providence, Rhode Island.

If you would like more information about the league, please contact Patrick Duhon, Commissioner of the Nocabulabet Bocce League, at paddyb47@yahoo.com.

I am interested in your club, which league to belong to is up to you. I”m only a beginner and will be asking a friend if he’s interested in joining too. Will let you know as soon as I know; where will the first meeting be held to join up? And what’s the address of the place? what time?
